Not all bosses are mean and dehumanizing. Some are good, even great! And some are basically Michael Scott from The Office (a surprisingly high number, actually). But unfortunately, not everyone is suited to the job of overseeing other people's jobs. And most people have worked for at least one boss or manager who has crossed the line from bossy to tyrannical.
Some managers are obsessed with limiting their employees' sick and personal days, even limiting them around holidays. As if sickness obeys these kinds of rules.

Hiring managers can be jerks too. At least this type of bad manager is useful at reminding you to not work there.
3.)
4.) 'My old boss took 10 days off and put this on her chair… in order to access her computer (aka cover her work while she was gone) we had to stand or bring in another chair… she would rewatch the cameras at 6x speed to see if anyone would touch it 😂'
5.)
Firing someone over text is an a**hole move. Some bosses are a**holes.
6.) 'This is how I got fired. No warning, no reason, over text, from my boss I thought was my friend. This is after I went on a 45 minute walk to get lids from another store. (Repost under different account without my name)'
7.) 'I’m a caregiver/DSP for developmentally disabled adults. My boss just scheduled me a 20hr shift without my consent so I quit.'
Occasionally, an employee is gutsy enough to call out a boss directly. Not everyone has this luxury (or this amount of courage). But props to this person who wasn't afraid to email their boss or to use CAPS LOCK.

9.)
Stealing from your employees is next-level bad bossdom. It's also a crime. Obv.
10.) 'Boss stole well over $20k in tips from us, I asked for my share back, he tried to short change me (only $800) but gave me access to new payroll data, found out I was owed EVEN MORE. I called the DOL, I got paid 💸💸 KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. WAGE THEFT IS A CRIME'
There's a time and a place to ask someone to come in to work. Five AM the same day is not it.
11.)
12.) 'Shitty manager tried to get me to come in with less than an hour notice.'
And then there are the managers who are obsessed with office 'rules,' like those surrounding shared spaces. Such as the fridge. Or storage room.
13.)
Ah yes, the old non-monetary holiday 'bonus.' A fun and festive way for cheap bosses to say 'f*ck you!' to their underpaid, overworked employees.
14.)
15.)
Boundaries? Not all bosses have them.
16.)
Of course, it's a manager's job to make sure you do your job, not to make you do other people's jobs. But some managers just love to take on extra work.... by making their employees take on extra work.
17.)
Passive aggression is a managerial tactic as old as time.
18.)
So is straight-up lying.
